It’s a fun, sustainable way to breathe new life into your wardrobe, meet like-minded people, and support a local cause right here in Preston.

Here’s how it works: bring along up to five clean, good-condition items of clothing, shoes, or accessories. These can be dropped off in advance during the week at Devonmade or brought along on the evening of the event from 6:30pm. When you arrive, simply hand your items to the team, who will carefully sort everything into sizes to make browsing easy and enjoyable.

Then, from 7pm, the swapping begins! You’ll be able to browse the rails and select up to five new-to-you items to take home. It’s a fantastic way to update your style without spending a fortune, and there’s always a buzz of excitement as people discover hidden gems among the rails.

The Clothes Swap is always a popular evening, full of friendly faces, good conversations, and the joy of finding ‘new-to-you’ treasures. Entry is just £5, and at the end of the night any clothing left over is donated to the Torbay Furniture Project’s clothing bank.

The Torbay Furniture Project, a Community Interest Company based in Paignton, works tirelessly to eradicate furniture poverty by supporting families and individuals in need. Alongside their core mission, they run a shop on Winner Street, where you’ll find affordable clothing and household items. By joining the swap, you’re not only refreshing your own wardrobe but also helping reduce waste and supporting a vital local charity.

The Clothes Swap is hosted at Devonmade, 142 Torquay Road, Preston. More than just a shop, Devonmade is a design studio, café, and creative hubthat showcases local makers and artists while hosting events that bring the community together.
